Two new, even more economical versions of the A-Class will be launched by Mercedes in the coming months. These are the A 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with the 1.5 diesel (109 PS) and the A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY with the 1.6 petrol (122 PS).
For the first car, the average consumption drops from 3.8 to 3.6 lt. per 100 km, while emissions drop to 92 g/km. The corresponding values in the petrol model are 5.2 lt/100 km (against 5.5 lt. of the simple version) and 120 g/km.
The reduction in consumption is not achieved through interventions in the engines but in the aerodynamic performance of the A-Class. Drag coefficient is reduced from 0.27 to 0.26.
