Opel is constantly upgrading the Astra, endowing it with equipment from the larger Insignia. The latest addition is the BiTurbo CDTI, a 2-liter diesel engine with an output of 195 PS and a torque of 40.8 kgm (available from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm). The important thing is that this powerful set will be available not only with the GTC, but also with the family bodies, namely the 5-door and the Sports Tourer. Orders in Europe will start in the autumn and the first deliveries by the end of 2012. The 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI gives the Astra more than satisfactory performance, but at the same time pleasantly surprises with its consumption. With it under the hood, the 5-door model reaches a top speed of 226 km/h, the highest for an Astra with a diesel engine (the Sports Tourer reaches 222 km/h and the GTC 223 km/h).
Combined with standard start/stop, the average consumption is from 4.9 lt/100 km (for the GTC) to 5.1 lt/100 km (for the Sports Tourer and 5-door). CO2 emissions are respectively 129 and 134 g/km. For more read on HERE
