Traffic license on the stand-alone TTS (video)

The Audi TTS Pikes Peak will be able to freely drive around the state of Nevada for research purposes, without anyone behind the wheel. This is the second autonomous vehicle to secure the relevant license, after Google’s, and the first for an automotive industry.
The TTS from the… future rose to fame in the fall of 2010 when it famously climbed Pikes Peak, covering the 20km distance in 27 minutes.

The self-driving Audi is the result of a collaboration between the Volkswagen Group’s research center in Silicon Valley and Stanford University. Autonomous vehicle technology allows driving or parking without the need for human involvement.
However, the driver will be able to take control of the car in his own hands at any time, as is the case with airplanes.
