Zelensky: The war with Russia will not end with a “piece of paper and a few signatures”

THE Volodymyr Zelensky declared that the war with Russia cannot end with “a piece of paper” and a few signatures and that a cease-fire in Ukraine without guarantees it can be breached at any time.

Volodymyr Zelensky’s statements were a response to what US President-elect Donald Trump said about a ceasefire in Ukraine and the start of negotiations.

Zelensky said that to date, 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 370,000 wounded. Ukraine, he stressed, needs a “sustainable peace” which “will not be destroyed in a few years” by Russia launching a new attack.

“As he has done repeatedly in the past,” he said in his Telegram post, referring to his conversation with Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday.
