Zelenski: Russia shows contempt for words – need real steps

Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski said, among other things, that Russia would not retreat with political statements and stressed the great need for real sanctions in Moscow.

The Ukrainian president has been in favor of imposing strict sanctions on countries that buy oil and gas from Russia and thus fund Moscow military operations, leaving hints for countries such as China and India.
He emphasized that additional sanctions are necessary at the expense of Russia itself in the banking and energy sector.

He also expressed his sadness over the fact that Russia has once again shown, through its recent attacks by rockets and as a result, “its absolute contempt for words”.

“We are relying on (taking) true action,” Volodimir Zelenski stressed, adding that it is clear that Moscow used the time the West gave it to prepare talks between Ukraine and Russia presidents to organize new attacks.
