During his speech at the Summit of the “Nine of Bucharest” and the Scandinavian countries today (02.06.2025) in Vilnius, the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski referred to the peace conversations with Russia.
Against the backdrop of negotiations in Constantinople, between the Russian and Ukrainian delegation, Zelenski stressed that his country would take the “necessary” measures, and also referred to the possibility of imposing sanctions on Russia by Donald Trump.
«Our delegation is now in Constantinople and we are ready to take the necessary measures for peace. Of course, a starting point would be a ceasefire and humanitarian actions, release of captives and a return of kids who have been abducted, “President Zelenski said.

Earlier, a member of the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul said Ukraine was ready to take “important measures for peace” during talks in Constantinople with Russia and has invited Moscow not to repeat itself unacceptable for Kiev.

“The first Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislitsia and Olexandr Bevz, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, met with representatives of the European partners of Ukraine, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said to X. “The sides coordinated the positions in view of today’s meeting,” he added.
