“The goal of the budget is to improve the daily life of citizens and move the country forward, let’s not forget that for the sixth consecutive year our country has growth in an environment that is not a given“, he said to Alpha Radio 98,9 and Giorgos Eugenidis, the general manager of New Democracy, Yiannis Smyrlis, on the occasion of his testimony by the Minister of Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
He noted that it is a realistic and workable budget, which “does not endanger the stability of the countryin the logic followed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis”. Yiannis Smyrlis emphasized: “We will continue to raise wages and lower taxes.”
He repeated how by the end of the month the advance payment of 70% of the OPEKEPE subsidies will have been paid and he emphasized that “there is a big cut in the operation of the Organization, after all we said that the plan must be approved in order to give the money, while with the checks that are being carried out today, the money will return to those who need it”. He added that the country will have additional funding in 2026.
Finally, he appeared optimistic about the ND body elections, which will be held on Sunday, underlining that the large participation also creates the largest party base compared to the other parties in the parliament.
