A… restful trophy for him Carlos Alcarath. The Spanish top tennis player saw him Janik Sinner Leave their final in the Cincinnati tournament after 23 minutes of race and lift another trophy.
Yanik Sinner was not able to defend the “crown” he had won last season in Cincinnati, as he could not even reach halfway through the race, with Carlos Alcarath becoming the new Masters holder of the ATP.
The game was from the first minute one -sided. Alcarath won 5 games in a row, had his own service, but the Italian got a medical time out after the 5th game. Sinner explained to the doctor and the referee that he made a great effort to get out and play, but he didn’t feel well and eventually left the match.
He then explained to his opponent what was happening to him, with the two of them having a very good relationship and Alcarath comforting him, seeing him tearful.

Alcarath thus added another trophy to his collection. This is the 8th title of Masters Tournament (8-1 in finals), the 6th title in this year’s unlikely year and the 22nd title in his career (22-7).
