Historical qualification for the Janik Sinner to Wimbledon! The Italian tennis player was impressive and “cleared” Novak Djokovic with summary procedures, dominating a 3-0 set (6-3, 6-3, 6-4) securing a position in the first final Grand Slam on English territory of his career.
Sinner won Djokovic in a match that lasted less than two hours and will face Carlos Alcarath, who is also the Wimbledon holder. It is worth noting that after the 2023 US Open that ended up in Todzokovic, all other Grand Slam titles have come to the hands of Sinner and Alcarath.
The Serb, current No. 6 in the world, never seemed capable of stopping his 23-year-old opponent, with the exception of a brief outburst in the third set, when he led 3-0 and had a chance to give him a 4-0 lead. Sinner, however, erased this critical opportunity, cut the counterattack and completely changed the flow of set, closing the race in 1 hour and 55 minutes, in his fourth opportunity for a match point.
Djokovic did not seem to be in the best physical condition. At the end of the second set he asked for a massage on the thigh, two days after “an ugly slip”, as he described it, in the fight against Flavio Koboli. At the end of the great career and counting 100 titles, the Serb is passionately hunting for a 25th title of Grand Slam, which will result in surpassing Australian Margaret Cort, which also holds 24 titles – some of them before the opening of Open Era in 1968 and 1968.
Sinner, for his part, will claim the 20th title of his career on Sunday, the first at the All England Club and the fourth in Grand Slam – already having two titles in Australia and one in New York.
At the same time, he will seek to take the rematch from Alcarath, after the epic defeat in the Roland Garros final a month ago, where the Spaniard prevailed in five sets.

“It is a great honor to share the Cort with Carlos again … I hope to see a big race, as the last time,” Sinner said after his victory.
