THE Danil Medvedev He fell victim to the first round of Wimbledon as he lost 3-1 set (7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2) by Benjamin Bonzi No.64 of the ranking.
Medvedev, after a race that lasted more than three hours, failed to move on to the second round of Wimbledon for the first time in his career, with Russian No9 of the world rankings proceeding from the tournament.
“I was surprised by his level … I couldn’t do much,” Medvedev told reporters. “Even when I played good hits, he had an answer.”
While spectators found shadow under umbrellas, large cornices hats, newspapers and any other improvised object to protect them from the hot sun, the only respite that the players had was a ten -minute break at the end of the third set.
But this did not particularly help Medvedev as the Russian lost a 3-1 set.
