Twelve well -known beaches in Greece were eliminated by the National and International List of the Blue Flag for 2025, due to omissions in the organization and non -compliance with basic criteria. The decision was taken after unexpected inspections carried out by evaluators of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature and international associates of the program.

The reasons for withdrawing 12 beaches

Water quality remains high
In spite of the unfavorable decision, the Water quality on 12 beaches remains excellentas noted in the official announcement. The withdrawal is based exclusively on organization and infrastructure issuesand not in health or environmental reasons.
