The Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis He met in Washington with US Finance Minister Scott Bessent and Deputy Finance Minister Michael Faulkender.
During the meeting held in an excellent climate and attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Thanos Petralias and the head of the Prime Minister’s financial office, Michalis Argyros confirmed the strategic nature of the Greek -US relations and their common pursuit.
Kyriakos Pierrakakis expressed Greece’s desire to attract US direct investment and technological giants, as well as our country’s particular interest in American investment in the field of artificial intelligence and data centers.
The minister reiterated the prime minister’s position that trade wars could not have winners and expressed Greece’s will for a mutually beneficial solution to trade negotiations between the European Union and the US.
Kyriakos Pierrakakis then highlighted Greece’s role as an energy hub in Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.
It is noted that it is one of the first meetings of the US Minister of Finance with his counterparts, indicative of the excellent climate of Greece-US relations.
