For the tragedy on the Arachthos River, where two children aged 12 and 14 -year -old drowned, the Minister of Immigration and Asylum spoke Makis Voridisas the focus of his father’s anxiety was found 12 -year -oldwho wants to go to Albania for his child’s funeral, but is worried that he will not be able to return to Greece.
Speaking to Action 24, Makis Voridis announced that “the Greek state will grant a humanitarian residence permit, which will allow the father to go and return in order to attend the funeral service in Albania.”
As Mr Voridis emphasized, “this is a facilitating movement”, adding that there is already an institutional framework that provides for such “excellent” cases.
