After devastating fires that hit the Chios Volissos leaving behind them burned forest, damaged infrastructure and animalsthe Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum, Notis Mitarakiswith suspension of on the platform X (Twitter)he assured that the government is currently undergoing the immediate recording of damage to “run” compensation and aid to the affected.
Mr Mitarakis said the prime minister had communicated through a video call with the President of Volissos, while he was in the area, speaking with residents and local bodies. As he noted, the government sets as a priority not only to repair the damage but also the economic recovery of the region, with programs that will support it in the long run.
“The disaster is great and the pain of the inhabitants of the unbearable,” he says in his post, stressing that the state “will stand by them by acts”.
