A wild gang of ‘mice’ that pierced into churches to make theftgrabbing money and valuable items and causing disasters, was disrupted by the Greek FBI.
So far, 33 cases of theft of churches have been solved, with their prey exceeding 200,000 euros.
The financial survey carried out revealed that The members of the organization were unemployed and did not justify their way of living and the 13 car purchases from 2023 until today.
In fact, they did not have bank accounts and traded exclusively with cash, coming from criminal activities, which were sought to legitimize through acquisition, possession and use of property.
The business of the Hellenic FBI
A police operation took place for the deconstruction of the organization, in the evening of Wednesday, in which four members were arrested.
Against them was formed Category – on a case -by -case – for criminal organization, distinguished thefts from a place for religious worshipmoney laundering from criminal activities, weapons and drugs.
As it emerged from the investigations, the perpetrators had set up and joined a long -term organization, with strong cohesion and dedication to their criminal activity, due to friendly bonds that linked them, with the aim of performing burglaries in sacred temples and removing their interior money.

The action of the gang had specific features:
-They used a “business” vehicle for spaceing, mainly in provincial areas, mainly evening hours.
-They were stepping up with another “operational” vehicle to temples -targets, and entered, violating the central doors or windows with burglaries they had.
–Had their features covered, using various protection measures (work gloves, dark clothes, full-face).
-The money was led by the benching or the films, items intended for religious worship, as well as the Tamas dedicated by the faithful, which were mostly made of gold or silver.
-The they were from the point with their vehicle, in which they had altered or hidden the sign to avoid their location.
An indication of their brazenness is the fact that during their stay in the temples they caused extensive damage, the amount of which is indefinable, and did not hesitate to enter the UNESCO sites, as monuments of particular historical importance and important to world cultural and religious heritage.
