Very high risk for fire Projected tomorrow Friday June 27th in AtticaEvia, Laconia as well as in areas of the North Aegean.
Specifically Risk Category 4 for fire is foreseen tomorrow in Attica, Euboea, Laconia and in areas of the Northern Aegeanaccording to the fire prediction map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
In particular, a very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is foreseen tomorrow for the following areas:
• Attica Region (including the island of Kythera)
• Region of Central Greece (Evia IP)
• Peloponnese Region (Laconia IP)
• Northern Aegean Region (IP Lesvos, IP Chios, PE Samos, PE Ikaria)
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (civilProtection.gov.gr) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis & Civil Protection has informed the relevant state -owned government agencies, as well as the regions and municipalities of the above areas, in order to be on increased civil protection readiness to address any immediate fires.
At the same time, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection recommends that citizens are very careful and to avoid actions in the countryside that can cause fire by negligence, such as burning dry grass and branches or cleaning residues, using sparks, cigarettes, etc. It is also recalled that the burning of the fields are prohibited during the fire period.
As announced, the Fire Brigade is implemented in the 2nd Stage of Operational Readiness of the PA. And air surveillance patrols will be carried out, as well as patrols by firefighters, police and military forces.
In addition, the personnel of the Fire Department of the above areas are partially alert to tackle the increased service requirements, which may occur due to very high risk of fire (category of danger 4).
At the same time, for the above areas, the Civil Protection Plan for Civil Protection Actions to address risks due to forest fires, according to which, among other things, provides for the implementation of the preventive prohibition of vehicles and the stay of excursions in national parks, forests.

The Fire Brigade appeals to citizens:
1.To be very careful and avoid actions in the countryside that can cause a fire by negligence, such as burning dry grass and branches or cleaning residues, using sparks such as disciplines, welding devices, use of outdoor buns, bourgeoisie. It is also recalled that the burning of the fields are prohibited during the fire period.
2. Watch the information on the prevention of forest fires available on the website and on the official Fire Brigade accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
3. In the event of a fire, they are kindly requested to immediately notify the Fire Service in Call Number 199.
Finally, the Fire Brigade calls on all citizens to be very careful and, in the event of a fire, for their own safety, to adhere strictly to the instructions of the competent authorities.
