Costas Vernikos-along with Costas Karapapas-represented Olympiacos at the BIG-5 meeting with her UEFAwith the first referring to the attitude made via a conference by the strong man of the Red and white PAE, Vangelis Marinakis.
Speaking after the end of the meeting, Costas Vernikos stressed that Vangelis Marinakis noted that one Greek team should help the other, and also raised the issue of the pitch, citing Bondo and Vikingour as an example of the UFA.
“It was a very positive meeting, a very good initiative by UEFA and the Secretary -General, Mr. Theodoridis. Mr. Marinakis and Mr. Savvidis participated via teleconference.
Mr Marinakis said that the Greek teams would have to decide how to work together, how to help each other would have to get the best in the European Cups as well, and thus increasing revenue and the teams who do not participate and the other teams are not more likely to go to the European Cups.
He also raised the issue of the pitch on the occasion of the bad situation on the Bondo stadium, but also what Panathinaikos played in Iceland and pointed out to UEFA to change the provisions and all teams have the same right to the stadiums, protecting not only the outcome, but also the health of the players.
