Vatican: Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Leo Meeting

THE Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew had today (30.05.2025) meeting in the Vatican with Pope Leo ID, for the 10 years since the Laudato Si ‘circular, dedicated to protecting the environment.

The two spiritual leaders had warm and heartfelt discussions focusing on Pope Leo’s upcoming official visit to Turkey – and his meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who is scheduled to take place later this year, as well as other ecclesiastical issues.

Once again, the atmosphere of the meeting was characterized by mutual respect and friendship. At the end of their conversation, Pope Leo kindly accepted the members of the patriarchal delegation, offering his blessing and accompanying them for commemorative photos.

Analysts say that the deceased Pontiff had inspired much of this circular by the work and the particular sensitivity of the Tax of Orthodoxy for protection and respect for our planet.

Reportedly, the new Pontiff and the Ecumenical Patriarch agreed to meet in Nice in late November, for the 1,700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council.

At the same time, during his journey, the Pope is expected to visit Ankara, Constantinople and the Ecumenical Patriarchate, during the throne of St. Andrew, as well as Ephesus.
