THE Vardis Vardinoyannis belongs to the new generation of creators who see the gaming Not only as entertainment, but also as a tool of social connection. Speaking to Tassos Salonikos, he describes how his passion for videogames became the starting point for Couch Heroes, a platform that made its Gamescom 2025 debut and aspires to leave its own footprint on the international stage.
With a combination of innovation, creative thinking and desire to bring gamers closer, Vardis Vardinoyannis reveals the challenges he faced, the inspiration behind the idea and how Couch Heroes is planned to act as a new social network dedicated exclusively to the global gaming community.
Of particular importance is the fact that the app will be completely free, and through Couch Heroes users will be able to get gifts and rewards for the games they are already playing. The first launch will be for PC, and by 2027 it will also be released on consoles. Indeed, Vardis Vardinoyannis shares with us exclusively that the first Playtest for the general public will take place in November through the Couch Heroes discord.
The videogames, as he tells us, marked his childhood as he was playing with his family and friends. When he was abroad for study, the games were for that channel of communication with his friends in Greece.
Vardis Vardinogiannis also stands in his difficulty in achieving the balance between passion for gaming and work. In order to be able to succeed, one must support his vision on a stable business model that will not be influenced by the feeling of creation.
For Greece, he tells us that there is plenty of talent at the Gaming Development, but there is no real support. He even stresses that at the moment gaming is a larger industry than cinema and music, and thinks there are conditions for a gaming hub in our country.
Vardis Vardinoyannis does not fail to give some tips for young people who want to take their first steps in the world of Game Development, stressing that he feels very lucky to make his passion for profession and deal with something so interesting.
