Raise is recorded at the level of electricity (LCOE) of all electricity technologies from 2020 to the present, according to Lazard’s annual report.
It is indicative that even green electricity technologies (wind-to-photovolta) saw their costs grow after a decade of rapid decline. Specifically, Lazard shows that commercial photovoltaic parks were at $ 38/MWh in 2020 and now reached 58 euros. Correspondingly, the land winds were at $ 38 and this year they are at $ 61.
The same trend is observed in conventional power plants. The combined gas gas units climbed from $ 59 to $ 78 and carbon from $ 112 to $ 122.
Similarly, the cost of nuclear units was boosted from $ 163 to $ 180. Overall the situation is reflected in the following diagram:
It should be noted in the above that the analysis relates to the US market, where conventional units are not charged with the cost of gas emissions to the same degree as in Europe. If this burden is added, then the cost of gas and carbon units is significantly increased.
Correspondingly, in the case of photovoltaics, there are significant differences between the categories of projects. Household photovoltaics cost much more than large commercial parks.
