THE comedian Reginald “Reggie” Carroll, based in Baltimore, died after being attacked with shooting in Mississippi, according to Southaven Police, USA.
According to authorities, police responded to a call for shootings in the Burton Lane area, where they found a victim with shooting injuries. Despite rescue efforts at Memphis’s Regional One Health Hospital, the 52 -year -old comedian failed to keep alive.
Authorities said in a statement shared on social media that they were called to Burton Lane in the city after reports of shooting.
At the site of the incident, authorities said that police and medical staff “applied rescue techniques, but the person succumbed to his injuries.”
The Sutheiven Police Department has announced that a man is in custody and has been accused of killing Carroll. The first reports of the incident, which took place on Wednesday (20.08.2025), showed that it was an individual incident, although the investigation was continuing.
“A man is in custody and has been accused of murdering Reginald Carroll. Our thoughts are with Mr Carroll’s family, “the police added. “We thank the community for its patience and understanding.”
Reggie Carroll, known as “The Knockout King of Comedy”, had gained a fan of his performances in all the US. He had also appeared on television programs such as Showtime At The Apollo and The Parkers, according to IMDB.
Oscar -winning comedian Mo’nique, his girlfriend and colleague, bid farewell to him via Instagram, describing him as “brother in comedy”.

The last time we found ourselves with Reggie was great touring together, on the street together, was a unique experience. I have no sad tears, because all of our moments were amazing, “he wrote.
His brother, Jonathan Carroll, thanked relatives and friends for their support, announcing his tragic loss.
