Turkish means report that this development is due to Ankara’s approach with General Khalifa Happear
An unpleasant development for Greece has emerged in Libya, where the House of Representatives, who is an ally of the opposition Government General General Halifar Haphtar, decided to set up a Technical Committee to study the Libyan-Turkey Agreement by the Libyan-Turkey News Agency.
Blihak did not provide details of the Libyan-Turkey agreement submitted by the Hamad government to the House of Representatives for approval. This agreement concerns the demarcation of the maritime borders between the two countries and was signed with the former government of national agreement led by Estrian al-Saraj on November 27, 2019. The Tripoli-based government signed an agreement with Turkey in 2019 on the demarcation of the two countries. In 2022 Turkey and the Tripoli government signed a memorandum based on the previous agreement, which granted Turkey to Turkey on land and sea exploration.
Both agreements were denounced by Greece and are considered widely invalid, including – so far – of the Libyan Parliament, an opposing center of power based in the east of the country. According to Turkish media, this agreement is now expected to be approved by the Tobruk government as part of an ongoing approach in recent years between General Haphtar and Turkey.
It is noted that on April 4, Turkey’s Defense Minister Yasar Guler welcomed Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, son of General Happere. Lieutenant General Haphtar was in Ankara at the invitation of the leader of Turkish land forces, General Selcouk Bayraktaroglou.
