United Group, a leading telecommunications and media provider in Southeast Europe and parent company of Nova, announces that Dr. Kim Kyllesbech Larsen assumes duties as Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO), effective November 1, 2025. Dr. Larsen, an accomplished senior executive in the field of telecommunications and techno-economics, with more than 25 years of international leadership experience, brings significant expertise in the design, development and operation of telecommunications networks worldwide.
Dr. Larsen has held senior executive positions at major telecommunications groups such as Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile and Ooredoo Group, where he led major technology transformations, the development of 5G networks, as well as innovative network infrastructure implementation strategies. He was CTIO at T-Mobile Netherlands and Magyar Telekom, where he undertook the implementation of infrastructures such as cloudification of IT infrastructure, modernization of networks and the creation of T-Infra BV (now part of Cellnex Netherlands) as CEO. Dr. Larsen was also part of the leadership team that managed the sale of T-Mobile Netherlands to private equity in 2022.

At Deutsche Telekom Dr. Larsen held Senior VP positions in Technology Economics, Architecture and Innovation, advising on network strategies, M&A and investment optimization in Europe and the US. At Ooredoo he was instrumental in developing Ooredoo Myanmar’s national broadband network and planning strategies for 5G and network sharing. As founder of TechNEconomY and Operating Partner at Macquarie Asset Management, he advises on telecommunications infrastructure investments with a focus on fiber, towers and next-generation 5G/6G technologies. He is also a board member of Tusass A/S (Greenland) and Fiberhost (Poland), focusing on operational excellence and critical infrastructure protection.

Dr. Larsen holds a PhD in Physics and an M.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from Aarhus University (Denmark). He has completed more than 50 programs in finance, data science, artificial intelligence and digital transformation at leading institutions such as INSEAD (France), University of Colorado Boulder (USA) and Oxford University (UK).
