Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin agreed to start negotiationson a technical level with the aim of achieving a truce in the Black Sea. However a few hours later, at Ukrainethey sounded sirens in Kyiv, accompanied by explosions.
It had not been a while, when Trump and Putin had a “detailed and sincere exchange of views” for Ukraine, and Putin said that resolving the conflict should be “overall, sustainable and long -term”, taking into account the interests of Russia’s own security and deeper.
Trump: “Good and productive” conversation with Putin
“My phone conversation today with Vladimir Putin was very good and productive,” US President Donald Trump wrote in a post shortly after telephone with the Russian president.
“We agreed on an immediate ceasefire in all energy and infrastructure, with the understanding that we will work quickly for a complete ceasefire and, ultimately, to end this very horrible war between Russia and Ukraine,” he added.
“This war would never have started if I was president! Many evidence of a peace contract were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers were killed and that both President Putin and President Zelenski would like to see his end, “Trump said in his post.
“This process is now in full power and implementation, and we, I hope, for the good of humanity, will finish the job!” Trump ended.
Zelenski: “We support the ceasefire on energy infrastructure”
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, commenting on the conversation between Russia and the US, said any discussion of Ukraine without the presence of her own “no sense”.
However, Volodimir Zelenski said Ukraine would support the US proposal to stop hitting in energy infrastructure for 30 days, which Vladimir Putin has agreed. “Ukraine will support any proposal that leads to a stable and fair peace.”
“I think it will be right to have a conversation with President Trump and we will know in detail what the Russians offered to the Americans or what the Americans offered to the Russians,” he added.
He also stressed that Europe should be at the negotiating table and “in terms of European security must be decided with Europe”.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that Putin’s demands to end military aid, exchange of information and mobilize Ukraine seek to weaken Kiev.
“Our allies would not agree to stop the military aid, which I hope will continue. The unconditional or partially unconditional ceasefire would be a positive effect, “he added.
As the Ukrainian president said, “Ukraine sees a new accumulation of Russian forces near the Sumi area of Ukraine.” Russia seems to be preparing new attacks on the fronts of Zaporizia, Sumi and Kharkov in the coming months to exert the maximum pressure on Ukraine.
Zelenski also said that he spoke with German Chancellor Olf Saltz and French President Emmanuel Macron after the Trump-Putin conversation.
Putin’s terms to Trump
Putin stressed to Trump that in order to achieve a total ceasefire, Ukraine must stop mobilizing and re -equipping its armed forces.
It was also emphasized that a key prerequisite for settlement of the conflict is the complete cessation of foreign military aid and information to Ukraine, according to the Kremlin.
If, however, the cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure is not left in theory, this would signal the first partial ceasefire for more than three years, since Russia began its full -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
