Ukraine: “The situation in Pokrovsk is difficult” says Zelensky – Russian attacks in Zaporizhia and Kupyansk

The situation remains difficult on the Pokrovsk front of the Donetsk region in the east Ukrainestated today (11.11.2025) o Volodymyr Zelenskywith the Ukrainian president stressing that bad weather conditions favor Russian attacks.

In particular, Volodymyr Zelensky claimed in a post he made on social media that Moscow is escalating its attacks on the strategically important city of Pokrovsk and also on the Zaporizhia region in southern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military announced that about 300 Russian soldiers are inside the besieged Pokrovsk and that Moscow was stepping up efforts to bring more soldiers in the city for the past few days, taking advantage of the dense fog as cover.

“Their purpose remains unchanged, to reach the northern borders of Pokrovsk and then attempt to encircle the city,” Ukraine’s 7th Parachute Corps said on Facebook.

Zelensky also today (11.11.2025) visited the line of fire in the city of Kherson, which is only a few kilometers from Russian positions on the other side of the Dnieper River and is under constant shelling and drone attacks.

Zelensky posted a photo of himself at the entrance to the city with a large decorative sign reading “Kherson” behind him and video showing him delivering a speech on the third anniversary of Russia’s withdrawal from Kherson in 2022, the year it launched its invasion of Ukraine.

«We are preparing decisions that should strengthen Kherson“, he said in the speech.

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that it has fully captured the eastern part of the city of Kupyansk in Ukraine’s Kharkiv Oblast and is advancing into the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Oblast.

The ministry also said its troops took control of the Novuspenivske settlement in the southeastern Zaporizhia region. Reuters notes that it cannot independently confirm information about the battlefield.
