Ukraine: The death toll from a Russian attack on a clinic in Zaporizhia has reached six

The death toll from the Russian attack on a clinic in the city has increased Zaporizhia her Ukrainian.

The death toll in Ukraine has risen to six, while four people remain buried under the rubble of the clinic in Zaporizhia, the regional governor and emergency services announced today.

Another 22 people were injured, as governor Ivan Fedorov wrote on Telegram. “All emergency services in the city are on the scene,” he said. As announced by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, its rescuers managed to retrieve two dead women from the wreckage of the building during the night.

Photos posted on Telegram show rescue workers and machinery moving piles of debris from the building that collapsed overnight.

Russia regularly launches airstrikes in and around Zaporizhia. Last Friday, an attack in the city claimed the lives of ten people and injured more than 20.

The two warring sides deny targeting civilians in their attacks and maintain that the targets of the strikes are each other’s key infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday appealed to Ukraine’s allies to supply his country with 10 to 12 more Patriot air defense systems that he said would fully protect the country’s airspace.

After Russia’s February 2022 invasion, Ukraine has been systematically asking its allies to supply it with more sophisticated air defense systems.
