Ukraine: New bloody attacks a few hours before the summit in Alaska

Just a few hours before US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday (15.08.2025) in Alaska, with a view to a ceasefire agreement, violence escalates by Russia and Ukraine.

Russia today fired a ballistic rocket in Dnipropetrovsk province, killing a man and injuring at least one more, according to local governor Sergei Lisak. A truck and a small bus suffered damage, while the area in Ukraine, a strategic hub for the Ukrainian army, often receives Russian bombings.

At the same time, Ukraine carried out mass nightly attacks with drones on Russian territories. In Samara, unmanned aircraft hit oil refinery, while in the city of Kursk, near the border, a woman was killed and ten people were injured.

In Astrahan, Ukrainian drones hit a port, causing damage to a cargo ship, according to local Russian authorities.

The Russian army claims that Kiev launched 53 drones on Thursday night, while the Ukrainian Air Force accuses Moscow of 97 attacks in the same period.
