A tragic incident was noted for her Air Force Ukraine Saturday (23.08.2025): militancy MIG-29 crashed at the time of landing, resulting in the death of the pilot, as announced by the Armed Forces General Staff. The causes of the accident are under investigation.
The Soviet-built MIG-29 fighters are the backbone of the Ukrainian Air Force’s small air fleet. Since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has received several aircraft of this type from Poland and Slovakia to enhance its potential.
At the same time, the Air Force announced that 49 Russian drones were launched overnight. The 36 were dismissed, but seven areas were hit. In Kyiv, the sirens sounded early in the morning. According to Mayor Vitali Klitsko, anti -aircraft defense dropped several unmanned aircraft, with one of them falling on the capital’s road.
