Five people found a tragic death after bombing launched by Russia Close to the city of Pokrovsk – a city that has been a key target of Russian attacks for months in the east Ukraine -, the regional governor said.
In addition to the 5 dead, at least 12 people were injured by Russia’s raids in several cities in the eastern part of Donetsk, Ukraine, according to Ukrainian authorities on Thursday (03.07.2025).
According to Vadim Filakkin, head of Donetsk Regional State Administration, in a posting on Telegram application, attacks caused deaths and injuries in many cities, as well as damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.
He said that unmanned aircraft and artillery were used in the attacks, claiming that Russian forces are still targeting residential areas.
Indeed, Vadim Filaskin said two people were killed in Pokovsk, a key supply support hub, where local authorities are urging residents to quickly move away from their homes.
Two others died in Bilicke, northwest of Pokrovsk and another in Ilinivka, between Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk, another frequent target of slow Russian promotion to the west through Donetsk’s region.
Russia did not comment immediately.
Ukrainian authorities also said that many citizens were removed from the affected areas.
