The 53 -year -old mayor, arrested on Wednesday morning at his home, was expected to be interrogated again this morning by police on charges of “supporting terrorist organization”, according to media.
According to his party, Imamoglou will then be questioned by the Attorney General of Constantinople late in the afternoon before appearing before the court.
The opposition called on new demonstrations this evening.
According to his lawyer, the mayor’s interrogation of the “corruption” category yesterday lasted “six hours”. “Mr. Imamoglou denied all the categories included in a 121 -page document”, said Mehmet Pechlivan’s lawyer.
