Necessary characterized the subordination of OPECEPE In AADE the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Costas Tsiaras.
Mr Tsiaras, coming to the Congress of the Panhellenic Exporters Association, made an ERT statement on OPEKEPE.
“After yesterday’s announcements and today’s debate to the Cabinet, it was decided to transfer OPEKEPE to AADE. This transfer is dictated as necessary after a series of reasons that led to the current negative image of OPEKEPE but mainly stated the inability to adapt and address issues that come from the past and which have been maximized, especially lately, “the minister said.
“The operation of OPEKEPE within AADE will ensure, on the one hand, a high level of control -and the experience of AADE, especially in this part, has been proven for many years. At the same time, however, it will create the possibility of distributing European resources with complete and absolute transparency and justice.
It is a fact that OPEKEPE’s staff will be transferred to AADE, now performing the work it has done within OPECEPE, under the AADE, thus contributing to the fact that all cross checks and interconnection of all information systems, are easier and easier to control.
It is – I think – a step that shows that the great effort we started for the transformation of OPEKEPE – here and a long time in a specific direction – is something that falls not only to the expectations of the agrarian food world, since we all want to safeguard the European flow.
