“The sun and the wind are the Greek ‘fuel’ and it makes sense to exploit them along with any natural gas deposits being discovered in the EEZ, so Greece will be able to gain stability in the energy“, Said the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Nikos Tsafiin a recent interview on the German website Clean Energy Wire.

“I have no doubt that RES are the future, but I am worried about how we manage their volatility. I know that part of the answer is trade with neighboring countries. In the end, the complexity of the system and volatility are enormous challenges in terms of energy security, “he added.
Finally, Mr Tsafos stood on the international dimension of the issue, saying that it is very important to have a European system that would exploit the capabilities and resources of each country. Thus, when there is a lack of green production in one area, it will receive support from another where there will be a surplus. One such example is Albania, which has high production with hydroelectricity, so it could assist by balanced the Greek market.
