Trump set three terms in Iran for agreement on his nuclear program – Tehran’s reaction

To Iran All three basic terms that must be met to sign an agreement on his nuclear program were reported today (15.05.2025) by the US President, Donald Trumpduring a visit to Saudi Arabia.

In particular, Donald Trump asked for strict application of US sanctions targeted by Iranwhile expressing the hope of reaching an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program,

“I want to conclude an agreement with Iran. I want to do something if this is possible, “Trump said during a summit of the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries in Riyadh.

He then set three conditions for agreement: ‘Iran should stop funding terrorism, to stop the bloody wars by representationn and permanently stop the pursuit of acquisition of nuclear weaponn.

“I strongly urge all nations to unite with us to fully and absolutely apply the sanctions I just imposed on Iran,” he continued, in a context of an increasing US opposition to the enrichment of Uranus by Tehran.

It is not clear to what sanctions did Trump mention in this wording. However, the US government has recently imposed sanctions on many entities associated with the oil industry and the Iranian nuclear program.

During Donald Trump’s first presidential term, the US was withdrawn in 2018 from an agreement concluded in 2015 between Iran and the Great Powers to set a framework for Tehran’s nuclear program in exchange for the removal of international sanctions against it, making it inactive.

Trump has also imposed drastic sanctions on any country introduces Iranian oil and has said that these secondary sanctions “are in some respects more devastating than direct sanctions targeted by Iran”.

Iran – US negotiations

The Trump government has already participated in four rounds of negotiations with Iran, as the US president is making efforts to avoid an Israeli military attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.

These talks, which began on April 12, 2025, are aimed at concluding a new agreement with the aim of preventing Iran from gaining a nuclear weapon, a pursuit denounced by Tehran, in exchange for the lifting of sanctions paralyzing the Iranian economy.

The two countries stated that Talks were held in a “positive atmosphere”. However, they do not seem to have been in depth the technical aspects of a possible agreement.

The Iran is currently enriching heaven at 60%, well above the 3.67%limit set out by the agreement on his 2015 program, while for Military use is required to enrich 90%. His reserves in fake material concern the western powers.

The Iran, which denies that he wants to acquired nuclear weapon, He also said he also intends to continue negotiations with Britain, France and Germany the day -to -day Friday (16.05.2025) in Turkey.

Iran’s reply to Trump

Trump’s description of Iran’s regional role is “misleading”, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragi.

Iran’s designation by the US president as the “most devastating power” in the Middle East is “misleading” today, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragsi, a few days after the fourth round of talks between the US and Iran for the Nuclear Program.

During his visit to Riyadh, Trump resisted yesterday’s “constructive vision” of Saudi Arabia with “collapse and suffering” that Iranian leaders have caused.

«Unfortunately, this is a very misleading view. The Iranian nation has the same ambitions for progress and prosperity as other countries in the region. It is the US that, with their sanctions and threats, have blocked the path of Iran to progress, “Arakzi said.

«Trump closes his eyes to Israel’s crimes and wants to present Iran as a threat to the region“, He added.

The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that his recent transition to Saudi Arabia and Qatar is related to negotiations between Iran and the US for the Iranian nuclear program, saying that Tehran keeps its neighboring countries aware of and seeks a regional agreement with a regional agreement.

«We are very interested in having a regional understanding of these conversations And a possible agreement that will lead to increased security and improved regional understanding without the involvement of any foreign country, “he concluded.
