Trump renders a voter identity to limit the US letter vote

The president of the USA, Donald Trumpstated on Saturday (30.08.2025) that he would sign an executive decree that would now make a voter id for all voters.

Donald Trump has long been challenging the US electoral system and insists on claiming that his defeat by Joe Biden in the 2020 elections was the result of extensive fraud. Both the Republican president and his supporters have made unfounded allegations that in the 2020 elections, many who were not entitled to vote were voted.

“The electoral identity must be required in every vote. No exception! I will sign an executive decree to end this, “Trump said in a post on the Truth Social platform.

“Also, no letter vote, except for those who are very ill and military who are far away,” the US president added.

Trump has also repeatedly requested to abolish the use of electronic voting systems, in favor of printed ballots and their hand -counting – a process that electoral officials point out that they are time -consuming, expensive and much less reliable.

Earlier this month, Trump had announced that he would sign an executive decree to end letter voting and the use of electronic voting systems in the face of the 2026 interim elections.

However, the authorities of the State are responsible for holding the federal elections and remains unclear whether the President has the constitutional power to establish such a measure.

The November 3rd 2026 elections represent the first national referendum on Trump’s domestic and foreign policy after returning to the White House in January.

Democrats will seek to end the US Congress control by the Republicans to be able to block the Agenda Trump.
