The critical meeting of US President Donald Trump with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin It will take place on Friday (15.08.2025) in one of the most strategic American facilities in Alaska, Elmentorf-Richardson Air Base, north of Ankorage.
As a White House official announced, Donald Trump’s tet-a-tete with Vladimir Putin will be hosted in the airline used by both the Air Force and the US Army.
This basis, known for the extensive landing corridor, also functions as a refueling station on presidential or ministerial trips to Asia. At the same time, it is one of the two main military centers of Alaska from which US fighters take off for intercepts of Russian aircraft approaching the US airspace.
The geostrategic significance of Alaska remains high since the Cold War. The state also operates one of the most important US anti -missile bases, while President Trump is processing the “Golden Dome” plan to protect the whole of the American territory from missile threats.
