Trump met with Finland’s president and asked to buy icebreakers

To supply the US icebreakers from the Finland asked for Donald Trump From his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb, with whom he met in his private residence in Mar-A-Lago, Florida today (29.03.2025).

Donald Trump discussed with Alexander Stubb the strengthening of US -Finland bilateral cooperation, as well as the possibility of buying Washington icebreakers.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said he “played a lot of golf” with Stubb.

“President Stubb and I are looking forward to reinforcing the corporate relationship between the US and Finland and this includes the market and development of a large number of icebreakers needed by the US, for the peace and international security of our countries and the world,” he said.

Stubb’s office in its statement clarified that the visit of the Finnish president, who had not been announced in advance, was a “private nature”. He added that the two presidents discussed foreign policy and foreign policy issues, especially the Ukrainian.
