The president Donald Trump said it would be difficult for him to ask Israel to stop his air raids on Iraneven if he is seeking a diplomatic solution to end the conflict.
“I think it is very difficult to make this request when someone is winning,” the president told New Jersey reporters about Israel and Iran, shortly before attending a golf -raising event.
“It’s a little harder to do than if someone lost. But we are ready, willing and capable. And we’ve talked to Iran and we’ll see what’s going on, “Donald Trump said.
Trump reiterated shortly afterwards that it would be difficult to request, given Israel’s military success so far.
Reporter: “Mr. President, what evidence do you have that Iran is building a nuclear weapon? Your intelligence community has said they have no evidence that they are at this point.”

“It is very difficult to stop when you look at it – Israel is doing well in terms of war,” he said. “I think you would say that Iran is doing less well, it’s a little difficult to stop.”
Europe cannot help
Trump rejected European efforts to diplomatic involvement with Iran, saying they did not help efforts to end the conflict.
“They didn’t help,” he said. “Iran does not want to talk to Europe. They want – they want to talk to us. Europe is not able to help this issue.”
The two -week deadline given to Iran relates to the ‘ceiling’
The US president said the two -week deadline given on Thursday (19/6/25) to Tehran was the “ceiling”, stating that It may decide whether the US will be actively involved in the war between Israel and Iran before its expiration.
Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he was giving a “two -week” margin to decide on the possibility of US military involvement on Israel’s side, adding that he considers that there is a “substantial” possibility of negotiations with Tehran.
Nor did the Republican president reveal his intentions on Wednesday, after being asked about the possibility of the US in attacks on Iran’s attacks, “maybe I do it, maybe not.” He also argued that the Iranians had contacted Washington to negotiate about their nuclear program and “they had even proposed to come to the White House”, something Tehran rushed to deny.
