According to CNN, the picture was impressive with a smiling Vladimir Putin looking out of the window of President Donald Trump’s shielding limousine as they passed in front of a series of cameras outside the landing corridor in Alaska.
So far, the body language at Friday’s summit was anything but cold.
As Putin approached Trump on the red carpet, the US president welcomed him with some applause, welcoming him to the US soil for the first time in 10 years. The two men exchanged handshakes and walked together to Trump’s limousine.
Later, as they were sitting for their meeting, both Trump and Putin sometimes smiled, though Trump remained mostly unhappy.

The Russian president is known for expressing his mood through his posture. Former US presidents have commented on his habit of bent in his chair while speaking as a sign of indifference.
In Alaska it does not bend. On the contrary, he sat in front of his chair as the meeting started, with his hands united, while the cameras click and journalists ask questions that remain unanswered.
