Trilateral Summit will be hosted today Friday (01.08.2025) by Turkish President, PEdge Tayyip Erdogan in Constantinople with the Italian prime minister Georgia and the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeybaaccording to a report by the Italian news agency Agenzia Nova citing Libyan Diploma sources.
Reportedly, leaders – Meloni Dbaiba and Erdogan – will discuss a wide range of strategic issues, including Regional developments, economic cooperation, migratory flows and the exploitation of energy resources in the Mediterranean.
The meeting was announced by the government of Tripoli, and according to information, the agenda includes the political process for restoring smoothness in Libya and the migration issue.
Indeed, according to the same sources, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary -General for Libya, Hanna Teth, is going to pay an official visit to Rome on the same day.
“It will be Tetech’s first trip to the Italian capital since he took over the leadership of the United Nations Support Mission to Libya (UNSMIL) in January,” the Italian agency notes.
The visit, postponed in May, is taking place at a critical turning point for the Libyan political process.
Tetech is reportedly expected to present a new roadmap for Libya before the United Nations Security Council in August.
The coincidence of the two events – the trilateral in Istanbul and the Terror Mission in Rome – reveals plans for the future of Libya, marine zones and energy resources of the Mediterranean.
