The “black widow” (scientific name: Latrodectus Mactans) is a kind of poisonous spider, known for its very powerful poison, the black color with the characteristic red shape of an hourglass in her abdomen, and the tendency of the female to kill the male after her gaming.
It is dangerous but not deadly for healthy adults. Its poison affects the nervous system and can cause: severe pain, muscle cramps, nausea or sweat.
Particular attention is needed in young children, elderly or vulnerable people.
