Anxiety and intense mobility of rescue workshops in Everestwhere thousands have been trapped climbers because of a snowstorm.
According to Chinese media, Snowstorms have trapped at at least 1,000 people on the east side of the mountain on the remote slopes of Everest in Tibet.
Hundreds of locals and rescue groups have been sent to clean the snow that prevents access to the area, which is located in above 4,900 meters (16,000 feet).
Local media reported that some tourists have already survived.
The heavy snowfall began on Friday night (03.10.2025) and intensified on the eastern slopes of Everest in Tibet, an area of popular climbers and hikers.
As the BBC writes, the scenes where the climbers were staying collapsed due to the intense snowfall and Some hikers are already suffering from hypothermia.
According to Reuters, tourist companies have been suspended yesterday the sale of tickets and entry to the Everest Scenic Area area.
The area is facing extreme weather conditions at this time, as neighboring Nepal has been affected by heavy rainfall that caused landslides and floods destroying bridges and killing at least 47 people in the last two days.
Everest is the highest peak of the world, with an altitude of over 8,849 meters. Although many people try to climb to the top every year, the ascent is considered extremely dangerous.
