The defendant, arrested on July 7 by the Lesvos Port Authorities for migrant trafficking casewas temporarily held in Korydallos prisons. On Saturday he was transported by boat to the island in order to appear before a judicial authority. However, dawn went out on the deck and dipped into the seawhile the ship sailed between Chios and Lesvos.
Immediately it sounded an alarm: Police officers – escorts informed the master, who stopped the ship, while the Port Authority boats began investigations to locate the runaway.

According to newer information, the prosecutor ordered the arrest and detention of four police officerswho accompanied the prisoner. These are three special guards and one deputy of the Attica Court of Appeals.
The four police officers are held on Sunday night (31/08, 21:00) at the Central Port Authority of Mytilene, which is conducting the preliminary investigation. At the same time, the disciplinary procedure has also been initiated.
The case has caused strong concern to the authorities, as both the questions about the detection of the runaway and the circumstances under which he managed to escape.
