Traffic fees: Change window from 2025 – No extension this year

Change window at traffic fees from 2025 to cars for private use, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Christos Dimas, speaking today (8.12.2024) on SKAI TV.

In response to a related question, Mr. Dimas, with regard to vehicle registration fees, and specifically regarding the possibility of their reduction for old cars, said that at the moment we have no change, but from there we are considering several scenarios for the next period of time.

He said, in more detail, that the Ministry of Finance is examining several scenarios to see how it can help, so that citizens have cars with newer technology, but also less burdensome for the environment.

The deputy minister reminded that based on the new tax law, no extension will be given to the deadline for the payment of traffic fees in 2024, while a 25% increase is foreseen for those who pay them in January, a 50% increase for those who pay them in February and 100% for whoever pays them from March onwards.
