Tomorrow, Monday May 12th open HEDDIE’s online platform in order to submit applications support of business for the increased cost of electricity paid from December 1, 2024 to 28 February 2025.
The platform for submitting business support applications, according to the relevant Ministerial Decision published last week, will remain open until June 12 and will display the amount of the subsidy they are entitled to by drawing up data from AADE.
The aid will be paid to more than 1 million companies with a turnover of up to 10m euros, and the aim is for subsidies to appear in business electricity bills by the end of June. The subsidy will appear in the electricity consumption accounts, against or clearing, issued by the entry into force of this and hereinafter.
Businesses are distinguished in three groups, depending on the turnover in order to determine the amount of the subsidy:
- The 1st team concerns legal or natural persons doing business, with an annual turnover of financial year 2023 from 0 to 500,000 euros. The subsidy is EUR 0.02/kWh and applies to 100% of the consumption of the beneficiary business.
- The 2nd group concerns legal or natural persons doing business, with an annual turnover of financial year 2023 from 500,000.01 to 1,000,000. euro subsidy is 0.02 euro/kWh and applies to 80% of the consumption of the beneficiary business.
- The 3rd group concerns natural or legal persons doing business, with an annual turnover of financial year 2023 from 1,000,000.01 to 10,000,000 euro. The subsidy is 0.02 euro/kWh and applies to 60% of the consumption of the beneficiary business.
In addition, energy -efficient companies (estimated at 11,000) such as bakeries, pastry shops and cleansing will receive € 0.04/kWh subsidies for 100% of their consumption regardless of their turnover.
These are businesses with the main CAD 10.71 and 10.72 (Bakery Production of Fresh Confectionery and Production of Nuts and Biscuits Production Production of preserved pastry, respectively) or main CAD 96.01 (washing and (dry) textile and furry cleaning).
For new connections, if they have been activated by 28 February 2025, subsidies are calculated on the basis of certified days of certified days. While for new businesses, which do not have gross income for the tax year 2023 and if there are certified counts of electricity consumption by the competent manager, they are presumed to belong to the A category.
No subsidies will receive the businesses that have made a fair rheumatic, and the funds they would receive (about 3m euros) will be added to the subsidies of the others. Also they will not receive subsidies as many businesses as contracts with fixed invoices
Applicants will enter the HEDNO platform on Monday where they will have to confirm the business’s identity with the username & passwords of access to AADE Tax Services (TAXIS-NET).
Based on the data returned by Taxis-Net, it will be checked whether the user is a legal or natural person who carries out business, as well as whether the primary CAD (activity code) is included in eligibility and subsidy rules.
If the identification is complete and positive for the two demands above, then entry will be allowed, otherwise a message will be displayed.
If no connected benefit that was active in December 2024 – February 2025 is found in the VAT ID, a relevant message appears that does not allow the platform to enter. If the identification is complete, then, then, the applicant business will select the number of provision for the who wants to submit a subsidy request.
The supply numbers that the system will display should be active amenities or be active for any time within the subsidy period, using commercial or industrial.
Finally, it is clarified that the existence of overdue debts in the electricity accounts of the beneficiaries of the subsidy does not affect its grant. Therefore, applicants with overdue debts will normally receive their accounts for the subsidy period, provided they become beneficiaries.
