The majority and opposition conflict over the tragic accident of Tempi is expected to revive today in the plenary session of the House during the discussion of the pre -trial finding calling for the referral of the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation Costa Ah. Karamanlis to the Judicial Council on the offense of breach of duty.
The final text of the conclusions of the New Democracy MPs who participated in the preliminary investigation proposes the “Criminal Prosecution Movement against Constantine Karamanlis of Achilles for the act of breach of duty, and in particular because of September 2021 to 28/14/20 Economically the Société Anonyme under the name of Greece Railway Organization SA failed:
a. to determine a sufficient funding framework for the railway sector,
b. to ensure that the public resources needed for the maintenance, repair, expansion and renovation of the rail network and the proper training of the budget based on a multi -year strategic rail investment program funded by the co -financed or co -financed and the Resilience and is approved by a joint decision of the Ministers of Infrastructure and Transport, Finance and Development and Investment, for the sake of the staffing of OSE SA with the staff necessary for the proper functioning of staff. ”
To leave PASOK voting
On the other hand, PASOK MPs denounced the proceedings followed in the pre -trial. Their concluding report notes, inter alia: “We denounce the attitude of the majority of the Commission, for the unjustified, refusal to call witnesses to investigate the investigation of this category, thereby providing full coverage to the controlled Mr. Konstantinos Ah. Karamanlis.
Members of the majority have unconditionally accepted the unprecedented, unconstitutional and illegal proposal of Mr Karamanlis for the selection of the procedure followed, with a direct bypass of the Special Parliamentary Committee and a direct reference to the Judicial Council without conducting the investigation. We denounce the attitude of the majority of the committee, which highlights the lack of respect for the institutional obligations arising from Article 86 of the Constitution, with arbitrary “use” of the majority votes. The Constitution is circumvented in order to provide the last stage of protection to K. Karamanlis and the concealment to be completed. ”
The green KO is reportedly oriented to abstain from the vote, while other opposition parties are not excluded.
SYRIZA MPs also refused to file a report, denouncing the process as unconstitutional.
The Greek solution called for a repeat process while Niki argued that criminal proceedings should be brought to the former minister.
According to planning, the secret ballot will begin around 9pm and, according to parliamentary parties in favor of the Karamanlis referral, 154 MPs from the ND CO of ND are expected to vote.
It should be noted that at least 151 positive votes are required for the Karamanlis referral.
