It comes into force from the dawn of Sunday, October 26, the winter timeas the 2025 summer time period ends.
Specifically, on 04:00 in the morning the hands of the clocks should turn an hour backi.e. at 03:00giving us an extra hour of sleep.
The time change applies to all its member states European Unionin the context of the common European policy for energy saving. Despite repeated discussions in recent years about the possible repeal of the measureto date no final decision has been made.
In a statement, the Ministry of Transport reminds:
“On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the application of the summer time measure expires, in accordance with Directive 2000/84 of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. The hands of the clocks must be moved back one hour, ie from 04:00 AM. at 03:00 am.”
So, from Sunday, the days will begin to shorten noticeably, marking it official entry of winter.
