According to SKAI’s report against him, he was pending a red advertisement by the Moldovan authorities, charged with embezzling three billion dollars in 2012 – 2014 from three government banks.
The Moldovan politician was arrested in Athens and a few hours later was notified to the Greek authorities through Interpol and a second warrant against him, this time by the Russian authorities.
In Moscow, he is accused of planning to assassinate his political opponent, a Russian national and leader of the Moldovan Friendly Party “our homeland”.
According to the warrant from Russia, Plahotnuk’s plan was not implemented as the paid killers were arrested for their involvement in another case.
Moscow also accuses him of participating in a criminal organization that traveled hemp from Spain to Russia.
Within 40 days, both Moldova and Russia must send a complete dossier with the data supporting their demands.
According to SKAI, the two requests will be tried by the Court of Appeal, with the final reason for its issuance by the Greek Minister of Justice George Floridis.
