Three years in prison for the torturer of animals in Donoussa: “I love kittens and I only want their good”

The court announced its decision for the animal torturer in Donoussa who had caged the cats who were found in a miserable condition: Three years in prison without parole and a fine of 3,000 euros.

The accused who was tried without a lawyer is now being sent to prison, ending a case that had caused anger and outrage.

According to cyclades24 during the proceedings, he appeared apologetic, claiming that he “loves the kittens and only wants their best”.

The case that led today to the conviction of the accused, had started after complaints from animal lovers in Donoussa.

By order of the Aegean prosecutor, Mr. Tsorbatzoglou, an operation was organized to arrest the man, who was already known to the authorities as the “collector-animal abuser of Muscat”.

A resident of Donoussa kept dozens of malnourished cats

His name first came to light in 2019 when police, following a strong stench reported by neighbors, searched his home.

There he found 11 skeletal dogs and 20 cats in a miserable condition in a dark basement, as well as nooses and other objects suggestive of animal abuse.

In Donoussa, the situation proved equally shocking. Authorities found approximately 58 cats crammed into a squalid, dark and dirty room, lacking basic hygiene and care.
