The 62-year-old painter and the 70-year-old owner of the gallery with the fake paintings on Thessaloniki.
The 42-year-old daughter of the owner of the gallery was also brought before the investigator of Thessaloniki, who was released after her apology.
It all happened a few days ago when, after a police raid, the authorities discovered at least 930 fake works of art inside the gallery.
“The conspiracy will be revealed,” shouted the 70-year-old after hearing the decision.
His lawyer, Alkis Grigoriadis, argued that the owner of the gallery believed that the works of art were genuine and kept them as a deposit in view of the auction.
The 70-year-old in his apology said that from the sales of the works of art, he kept 17% as a commission.
The 62-year-old painter stated that he was simply a collector of the works, while the 42-year-old daughter of the owner said that she was helping her father with the procedures.
After the apologies, the investigator and prosecutor remanded the 2 men, while the 42-year-old daughter was released on parole.
Authorities are looking for one more person involved in the fake works case.
