Authorities in Thessaloniki are in search of two additional people allegedly linked to the far -right organization “Nationalist Youth of Thessaloniki”, which is accused of engaging in violent incidents and other criminal offenses. He is a minor who is estimated to be abroad, as well as an adult, known as the nickname “Hades”, who allegedly played a key role in the structure of the group.
The action of this organization is causing strong reflection as it allegedly recruited minors, forming a group of young people with extreme ideological motives. These young people, after being fanatical, were allegedly pushed to commit criminal offenses. According to ELAS spokesman, the organization used the mantle of nationalism to commit crimes, such as drug trafficking, robberies, theft and bodily injury, while urging violence through online posts.
A student who fell victim to attack by members of the organization in September 2021 at Stavroupoli EPAL testified. He described how students were guided by extracurricular individuals and that there were in the past efforts to cause incidents. The penetration of the organization into school environments, mainly in professional high schools in the city, in order to attract students, is said to have been alarming in the last four years. The victim described the attack by four girls and a larger group, noting that people who had no involvement were hit, and some had to be treated in the hospital. She was forced to lose the school year due to absences, while the girls who attacked her simply changed school.
Research on the structure of the organization shows that there were two leaderships, adult members guided minors, and there was allocation of responsibilities in groups for attacks, robberies, targeting and propaganda. More specifically, there were three leaders (responsible for organization, financial and decision -making), two “recruiters” and 16 “soldiers” who took operational actions.
In the meantime, the father of a 16 -year -old man arrested expressed his belief about his son’s innocence.
